PM Attends 100th Day Funeral Ceremony for His Elder Brother Hun Neng

KAMPONG CHAM: Prime Minister Hun Sen traveled to Kampong Cham on Thursday morning to organize the 100th day funeral ceremony for His Brother, Hun Neng, who passed away from a heart attack on 5 May 2022 at 72-years-old.

The Prime Minister traveled to Kampong Cham province by helicopter on Thursday morning, 11 August.

The 100th day funeral ceremony for Samdech Udom Tep Nhean Hun Neng will be celebrated for two days, starting from Thursday afternoon. During the ceremony, candles, incense sticks, flowers, perfume, powders, and all kinds of drinks are offered at the shrine of Hun Neng, located at Phnom Pros Memorial in Andong Chros Village, Ampil Commune, Kampong Siem District, Kampong Cham Province.

Former MP, Hun Neng, passed away on 5 May 2022, just before Prime Minister Hun Sen departed to the United States for five days to attend the ASEAN-US Summit. Due to this event abroad, the Prime Minister did not attend the seven-day funeral for his brother.

He wrote on his Facebook page on the evening of 9 May 2022 that it was very difficult for him to step away from family at this time, while not being able to participate in the 7-day funeral for Hun Neng. However, he said he has a duty towards the nation, so he must fulfil his obligations.
